Start, stop, and restart cloud desktops

You can manage cloud desktop lifecycle from MultiClaw Cloud. Stopping does not delete your data — files, conversation history, and skills remain on the cloud desktop's disk until you choose to terminate it.

Start a cloud desktop

  1. Open MultiClaw Cloud and go to your workspace.
  2. Click Instances (or Cloud Desktops).
  3. Find the cloud desktop you want to start and use the start action.
  4. Wait for the status to move through Starting to Online. This typically takes a minute or two, depending on instance type and current cloud conditions.

Your agents can connect as soon as the cloud desktop shows Online.

Stop a cloud desktop

  1. Open MultiClaw Cloud and go to your workspace.
  2. Find the cloud desktop you want to stop and use the stop action.
  3. Wait for the status to reach Stopped.
Note:

Stopping does not delete your data. Your disk and everything on it — files, conversation history, and agent skills — are fully preserved. Nothing is deleted by MultiClaw.

Restart a cloud desktop

Use restart when a cloud desktop is unresponsive, agents are stuck, or you need a clean system-level reset.

  1. Open MultiClaw Cloud and go to your workspace.
  2. Find the cloud desktop and use the restart action.
  3. Wait for the status to cycle back to Online. The full cycle typically takes a couple of minutes.

Terminate a cloud desktop

Terminating permanently removes a cloud desktop and its disk. This is entirely different from stopping — stopping is reversible, terminating is not.

Warning:

Termination cannot be undone. All files, recordings, and conversation history stored on that cloud desktop's disk are permanently removed. Data that has been synced to MultiClaw Cloud — such as session history and usage records — is handled separately under our Privacy Policy.
