Set up Slack notifications

Last updated Mar 30, 2026

MultiClaw can post messages to a Slack channel when agents need your attention. You configure the connection in the desktop app using a Slack app you create in your Slack workspace.

Note:

By connecting Slack, notification content — including task names and status — is transmitted to Slack's servers. This is subject to Slack's Privacy Policy. Review Slack's data processing terms before connecting if your agents handle sensitive or regulated data.

Before you start

You need a Slack app with the required tokens. If you don't have one yet, you can create it at api.slack.com/apps. The MultiClaw app in your desktop settings includes a Copy Manifest button to speed up Slack app creation with the correct permissions pre-filled.

Connect Slack

  1. Open the desktop app and go to Settings → Channels.
  2. Enable the Slack toggle.
  3. Choose a connection mode:
    • Socket mode — requires an App Token and a Bot Token. No inbound port needed; the bot connects outbound to Slack.
    • HTTP mode — requires a Bot Token, a Signing Secret, and a webhook path. Requires an inbound HTTPS endpoint that Slack can reach.
  4. Paste the required tokens into the fields shown for your chosen mode.
  5. Click Save.
Note:

Each MultiClaw workspace has its own Slack connection. If you manage multiple workspaces, repeat these steps for each one.

Disconnect Slack

  1. Go to Settings → Channels.
  2. Disable the Slack toggle.
  3. Click Save.

MultiClaw stops posting to Slack immediately.
