Conversation history
Every conversation you have with an agent is saved automatically. You can return to any past conversation and delete or export individual threads whenever you need to.
Find a past conversation

- Open the Conversations screen.
- Look at the left panel — your conversations are listed there, sorted by most recent at the top.
- Each entry shows the conversation title and a snippet of the last message.
- Click any entry to open it in the chat area.
Agents do not carry memory between separate conversation threads. If you need the agent to remember context from a previous chat, copy the relevant details into your new message.
How long conversations are kept
Conversations are stored until you delete them. There is no automatic expiry.
Where conversations are stored depends on how you use MultiClaw:
- Local mode — stored as
.jsonlfiles in~/.openclaw/on your Mac or Linux machine, or%APPDATA%\openclaw\on Windows. - Cloud mode — stored on your cloud desktop instance hosted on AWS. Retention and deletion for cloud conversations follows our Privacy Policy.
Cloud conversations are stored on your cloud desktop instance hosted by MultiClaw on AWS infrastructure. See our Privacy Policy for information on data location, access controls, and your rights under applicable data protection law.
Delete a conversation
- Open the conversation in the chat area.
- Click the ⋯ menu in the top-right corner of the chat area.
- Select Delete conversation.
- Confirm when prompted.
Deletion removes the conversation from your list. For cloud mode, deleted conversations are handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Export conversations
Conversations are stored as plain .jsonl files — one file per thread. To export in local mode, locate the file in ~/.openclaw/ and copy it to wherever you want to keep it.
For cloud mode conversation data or to exercise your data portability rights under applicable law, email privacy@multiclaw.io.
